About Nelson Matoma

I'm Nelson Matoma, a Sydney-based illustrator and caricature artist. Originally from Colombia, I came to art through a background in graphic design and a love of storytelling through drawing.

As an illustrator, I've created artwork for children's books published by McGraw Hill and Prentice Hall, and my work has been exhibited across the USA, South America and Australia.

I hold a Master's degree in Graphic Design from the University of Wollongong and teach design and illustration at Enmore Design Centre in Sydney.

These days you'll also find me drawing live caricatures at weddings, corporate events and festivals — quick, fun portraits that guests take home as a memento of the day.
