Privacy Policy

This website is run by Nelson Matoma, a caricature artist and illustrator based in Sydney, NSW, Australia ("we" or "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect through nelsonmatoma.com, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Enquiries. When you use the enquiry form: your name, email address, phone number, event date, start time, location, duration, event type, number of guests and any message you write.
• Shop orders. Your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, what you ordered and the amount you paid. Your card details are entered on Stripe's secure page. We never see or store your full card number.
• Spam protection. To protect the enquiry form from misuse we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, not the address itself. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs.
• Your cart. Your shopping cart is saved in your own browser so it survives a page refresh. It stays on your device.

How we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote.
• To take, make, post and support shop orders, including order emails.
• To prevent spam and fraud and to keep the website secure.
• To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that help us run the site and fill your order, and only for that purpose:

• Stripe, to process payments.
• Printful, our print partner, who receives your name, delivery address, phone number and email address so they can make and post your order.
• Delivery carriers, who deliver your parcel.
• Our website hosting, database and email-delivery providers.

Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, for example in the United States or Europe. We choose providers that keep information secure.

Cookies and similar technology

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this site. Third-party services you may use through the site, such as Stripe's checkout page or links to Google, Instagram and YouTube, have their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep enquiries and order records only as long as we need them for the purposes above, including for the period tax and accounting rules require.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, subject to our legal obligations to keep some records. Please contact us or use the details below.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your information, please tell us first and we will do our best to put it right. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
